OUT OF SEASON
When Paul exhorts Timothy to preach the word, he was speaking to a pastor but also to all Christians everywhere: “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2). Preachers bring people back to the grace of Jesus. You are a preacher with His word of grace to share.
So often God works in our own lives, and opens the doors to speak with others, through the “out of season” moments. God’s powerful grace worked “out of season” when he bore our sin and died on the cross outside the city and outside of social acceptance. He continues to show his grace, love and forgiveness for us in our “out of season” times.
